I’m a firm believer in controlling as much of your digital identity as possible. It’s your brand, your voice, and your image—so why let someone else dictate how it’s presented to the world? We live in a time where many platforms promise ease and simplicity but end up boxing you in with proprietary systems that limit your freedom to grow, adapt, and evolve.

That’s why I’ve always leaned towards solutions that offer more flexibility and connectivity. The power of having options is what gives you the freedom to make the best decisions for your business and your digital journey.

Why WordPress Still Matters
Yes, WordPress will remain an important part of website building for years to come. It’s not going anywhere. The open-source nature of WordPress offers you the ability to customize, tweak, and scale your site as needed. It’s the flexibility that allows you to connect to so many different systems without being tied down. Want to use a different page builder? Go for it. Want to move your data to another platform? You have the freedom to do that.

But here’s the thing: WordPress should be one of many options. Just because it’s flexible doesn’t mean you should stop exploring other tools or platforms that might be a better fit for specific needs. You should always have the freedom to choose what works best for you, whether it’s WordPress or something else.

Proprietary Platforms Keep You Locked In
The problem with most proprietary platforms is that they keep you locked into their ecosystem. Sure, they make things seem simple at first, but as your business grows or your needs evolve, you start to notice the limitations. You can’t just pack up your data and move to a different service without a headache. These platforms are designed to keep you there, using their tools and services—and making it hard to leave.

That’s why I always advocate for solutions that don’t limit your options. Your business will grow, and your needs will change. You don’t want to be stuck with a platform that doesn’t allow for that evolution. You need the flexibility to integrate with new tools, scale up (or down), and take your data wherever you go.
